Get your best eye exam ever! Getting an annual eye exam is the best way to detect vision problems early. Early detection can be invaluable in managing and treating diseases of the eye, such as diabetes and high blood pressure. Our eye exam covers patients of all ages, from kids to those over the age of 60. Problems like macular degeneration and cataracts are more common as we age, and regular eye exams can help you maintain excellent vision in your golden years. We proudly offer the latest technology, including digital retinal photography, computerized visual field exams, and other advanced equipment and procedures that allow us to perform thorough, state-of-the-art eye examinations. At your yearly exam you can expect a detailed external and internal ocular health examination. Your exam will also include a detailed medical history and eye health history as well as assessments of your eye pressure, peripheral vision, visual acuity, eye muscle balance, and an accurate glasses or contact lens prescription.
Diabetic Retinopathy is a condition when a diabetic person’s blood sugar gets too high. High blood sugar levels start a series of events which ends in damaged blood vessel walls. As such, the blood vessels begin to leak fluid or bleed, causing the retina to swell and form deposits know as exudates. Vision can be lost if these spots are not watched and treated. Here, at our office, we carefully examine the back of your eyes to follow and manage this and other important eye diseases.
If you are diabetic, or at risk for developing diabetes, it is especially important that you schedule an annual eye health check.
Once a Comprehensive Eye exam has been completed, a contact lens exam (extra fees apply), provides all of the measurements and testing that are required to determine if your eyes are suitable for contact lens wear. We are able to fit most patients (even those that are hard-to-fit) with a contact lens prescription.
